Anicent Egypt
Do you ever wonder what it was like to live in Ancient Egypt? Ever wonder how they mummify mummies? Well, if you exit you'll be sorry because this is going to be good. I’ll tell you all about Pharaohs, mummies, and pyramids.

I’m going to tell you about the Pharaohs. The Pharaohs were rulers of Egypt. They were the most powerful people in Egypt. They could tell people what to do and order them around. But the pharaoh had a lot of responsibilities, so I wouldn’t switch places with him.

Now, you’re going to learn about mummies. Here’s a little about mummies; when a pharaoh or very important person dies, they mummify them. The process of mummification is this;
v First, they took the person to a temple and stick a hook up their nose and remove the brain.
v Next, they cut open the body of the person and take out every organ except for the heart.
v Then they take salt and put it all over the body and inside the body and set it in the sun to dry.

I’m going to tell you about Pyramids. The pyramids were tombs for Pharaohs and their house for the afterlife. They let their body rest in there for the spirit of the Pharaoh to rise up to the heavens to a god for a weighing of the heart. (That’s why it’s a pyramid, because it points to the heavens.) They put the heart on one end of the scale and a feather on the other side. If the heart was lighter than a feather, they were able to go to the heavens and go with the god, and if it was heavier than the feather, they went to the underworld, to become a demon.

There you go! In this paper, you learned about Pharaohs, mummies, and pyramids. Wasn’t that mummy stuff gross!? When I was little, all I thought they did was wrap the mummy in bandages and put them in a coffin .Until next time, I’m Chris. Adios!
